Hoag Opens Orange County's First Hospital-Based Residential Program for Addiction Rehabilitation
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., September 1, 2015 --- Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian announced today a major expansion and transformation of its substance abuse services, to be now known as Hoag Addiction Treatment Centers. With tremendous community support, Hoag has re-engineered a historic building on the hospital’s Newport Beach campus to create a modern residential facility, setting a new bar for today’s addiction treatment experience. The 21-bed facility, which will begin accepting new patients in early September, will be the only one of its kind in California that is located on an acute care hospital campus.
For nearly 30 years, Hoag has been a leader in evidence-based addiction recovery treatment. With the addition of this new residential facility (or “rehab”), otherwise known as SolMar Recovery, Hoag Addiction Treatment Centers will offer the Orange County community the most comprehensive continuum available in addiction care. Dr. Ey explains, “By adding a residential component to our long-standing Addiction Treatment Centers, we’re enhancing the treatment experience for those people that require 30 to 90 days in a residential transitional structure and support for successful outcomes.”
While recovery is an individual challenge, the families of those in recovery will impact the process as powerfully as they are impacted by it. Like all of Hoag’s existing inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment services, the new residential experience will place a strong emphasis on family support and participation.
