Judy Kidd Named Hoag's 2018 Nurse of the Year
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 5, 2018 --- Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian announced today that Judy Kidd, BSN, RN, a perioperative services nurse, is the hospital’s 2018 Nurse of the Year.
Selected as Nurse of the Year for her professional and clinical excellence as a teacher to her fellow nurses and patient advocate, Judy is dedicated to the endless task of providing current education on the variety of complex tasks, equipment, and resources needed to provide state-of-the art care in the operating room.
“Judy has educated hundreds of nurses who have gone on to become successful team members in a very demanding field,” said Carole Metcalf, executive director of perioperative services at Hoag. “Her tireless love for education and compassion for patients have been the driving forces that led Judy to success in her career.”
Working for the last decade at Hoag, with a total of 50 years of experience in an operating room, Judy is respected for her commitment to all aspects of nursing education and excellence. She turned her expertise in the field into educational opportunities for nurses who have a passion for the operating room. Additionally, Judy helps coordinate the Perioperative Nursing Conference each year that is attended by nurses not only from Hoag, but from the community as well.
