The mission of Graduate Medical Education at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is to offer exemplary postgraduate training opportunities in a privademic environment. Our goal is to train highly skilled physicians whose practices will engender the highest ideals of compassion and professionalism in patient care.
Hoag’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Department is dedicated to training the next generation of medical professionals through world-class fellowship programs, student rotations, and a comprehensive educational experience. Our mission is to foster excellence in clinical education, research, and patient care, ensuring that every physician, fellow, and student receives the highest level of support and training in their respective fields.
Our department offers specialized fellowships, including the Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship and the Molecular Imaging & Therapy Fellowship, which provide focused training and cutting-edge research opportunities. In addition, we provide PA Student Rotations, offering invaluable hands-on experience in various medical settings.
Hoag’s GME programs are supported by competitive salary and benefits packages, along with a strong framework of policies and procedures to guide our residents and fellows throughout their educational journey. Our commitment to nurturing medical professionals is at the core of our program, helping shape the future of healthcare through innovation, leadership, and compassionate care.
The aim of the AEF program is to train gastroenterologists in performing all cognitive and technical aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic techniques. At the conclusion of training, we expect the AEF graduates to be competent to establish an interventional endoscopy unit at their own hospital, hold a high-volume practice treating complex disease processes, and continue to further advance the field in both clinical research and development.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is proud to train the next generation of Oncoplastic breast surgeons as the first Advanced Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship program in the United States. This one-year program will provide a broad multi-disciplinary clinical experience in all aspects of oncoplastic breast surgery. The fellow will receive in depth exposure in breast surgery and plastics and reconstructive surgery. The surgical training experience will cover level 1 and level 2 oncoplastic procedures.
Fellows in the Hoag Molecular Imaging and Therapy Program receive comprehensive clinical experience in molecular imaging and therapy, play a significant role in diagnostic consultation and are actively involved in regular triage of patients to ensure that the appropriate study is performed.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian provides its fellows with a compensation program that is highly competitive in today’s market and offers benefits to support a well-balanced, educational experience and healthy lifestyle.
