He specializes in minimally invasive and structural heart surgery, with deep experience in complex cardiac surgery involving mitral valve repair, aortic surgery, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, and mechanical circulatory support. He received his BS in Biology and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, subsequently completing his MSc and residency at McMaster University, a Canadian institution renowned for research collaborations and innovations that have transformed surgery and medical training. Finally, Dr Sun completed his Transcatheter Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Beyond his surgical practice, Dr Sun is a dedicated researcher and thought leader in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
