About Dr Raquel A. Minasian
Bio
Dr. Minasian is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon at Hoag’s Breast Center. She grew up in Southern California and received her Doctor of Medicine with Research Honors from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society and awarded for graduating first in her medical school class. While in Boston, she spent three years at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a research fellow studying wound healing. She then completed plastic surgery residency at the University of Southern California and fellowship in Advanced Microsurgical and Robotic Breast Reconstruction at the Northwell Health in New York. She was fortunate to train with world renown aesthetic surgeons in both Beverly Hills and Manhattan. Dr. Minasian believes that exceptional patient care goes beyond just surgical expertise—it’s about understanding the individual behind the procedure. With a holistic approach to plastic surgery, she makes it a priority to connect deeply with her patients, ensuring their personal goals and concerns become the foundation of their treatment plan. In addition to her extensive training and experience, with a background in visual arts, she brings a unique artistic perspective to every case, curating unique treatment plans for each patient and delivering results which are not only technically precise, but also beautifully balanced. For Dr. Minasian, plastic surgery is a partnership—one where both physical transformation and emotional well-being are prioritized, ensuring patients feel confident and supported throughout their entire journey. Her surgical areas of expertise include comprehensive breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery for the face and body. She provides her patients with the latest techniques in microsurgical autologous reconstruction, implant-based reconstruction, oncoplastic reconstruction, aesthetic flat closure, reinnervation techniques to restore sensation to breast skin and the nipple-areola complex, lymphatic surgery to prevent lymphedema, and robotic DIEP flap (deep inferior epigastric artery perforator flap) harvest. Her academic areas of interest include quality improvement, enhanced recovery after surgery, technological innovations in surgery, robotic breast reconstruction, robotic mastectomy, and surgical resident education.
